Main Card

Jon Moxley v. Alex Reynolds (w/ John Silver)

The show opens hot with Jon Moxley making his ring entrance through the audience. The crowd is electric.

Great introduction by Justin Roberts.

Moxley wins in less than a minute with the Paradigm Shift. He is the #1 contender for the AEW belt.

He is attacked from behind by John Silver. Moxley quickly disposes of him. He celebrates as he stalks the ring.

Le Champion’s music hits as Chris Jericho comes out holding a microphone. He is flanked by members of the Inner Circle. The faction surrounds the ring as Jericho enters.

The titleholder confronts the new #1 contender.

Jericho: “Now, I want you to just be cool, alright? If we were going to ambush you, we’d have attacked you already, right?”

Jericho goes on to say that the Inner Circle is impressed with Moxley arrived in the company. He talks about how Mox asked him for advice years ago. Later they became adversaries. He went on to teach Moxley how to be a main-eventer.

The champ asks him to imagine what it would be like to join forces. He formally asks him to join. The audience is livid. Jericho says to take his time to think and they’ll be there when he is ready.

Jericho: “So think hard, chose wisely. And when you’re ready, we’ll be waiting.”

He places a folded Inner Circle tee-shirt on Moxley’s shoulder and leaves the ring.

Mox stands quietly in the center of the ring.

Winner: Jon Moxley

A video package runs about the Young Bucks and Proud & Powerful main event contest later in the show.

The Butcher & The Blade (w/ The Bunny) v. Cody Rhodes & QT Marshall

The heels are a terrific trio with a great look and aura.

During Rhodes’ entrance, an MJF insert promo plays. He laughs at Rhodes for being forced to team with Marshall.

Just seconds after the bell, Rhodes tags himself in to face The Blade (Braxton Sutter).

Ya know, with her girl-next-door good looks and quiet confidence, Allie reminds me of a modern-day version of Sunny (Tammy Sytch).

Marshall is being worked over by the heels until he makes a hot tag to his partner.

The American Nightmare connects with a Disaster Kick to The Blade. He follows with a cutter off the ropes for two. However, the Blade kicks off an attempted figure four leglock.

Marshall tags himself back in. He rattles the Blade with a Cross Rhodes. He then hits a move off the ropes for two.

The Butcher (Andy Williams) trips Rhodes, who is standing on the apron.

The Butcher and the Blade are double-teaming Marshall.

Marshall eats a lariat from Butcher. He is then the victim of the Full Deck and pinned.

JR notes that Butcher (facially) looks like Ole Anderson.

Darby Allin brushes by the exiting victors. He approaches Rhodes and extends his hand.

Winners: The Bucher & The Blade

Promo: MJF

The Inner Circle stare into the camera during the picture-in-picture commercial break.

As Dynamite returns, MJf and Wardlow saunter to the ring. MJF calls a ringside grip to the ring. He accuses the union worker of laughing at him during a segment with Cody Rhodes the previous week. He demands the man kiss his ring, which he does. Regardless, MJF still gives him the Double Cross.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman calls Cody Rhodes one of the greatest of this generation.

MJF: “You do not throw rocks at a man with a machine gun.”

He says that he wants Cody Rhodes to suffer. He is upset because Rhodes called him a “knock-off of Chris Jericho.” He thinks that Rhodes is fake. He talks about his hair and his “beaver teeth.” MJF says the only thing real about Cody is his “shitty lisp.”

Jeers pour from the audience.

MJF begs to be fired. However, he says he won’t be because Rhodes wants to get his hands on him…plus, the fans want to see it.

Friedman announces that the match is on…with certain stipulations. However, he won’t reveal them in Texas. Instead, he will tell him on January 1 in Jacksonville, FLA.

MJF gets right in the camera and delivers his catchphrase. He kisses his own ring as he exits.

Commercial break.

Vignette: Dark Order

Alex Reynolds of the Beaver Boys is shown in a hotel room, lying on a bed and watching television. He’s surfing the Internet. A commercial airs on the TV for a luxury hotel. Soon it starts to glitch. The man in the commercial asks Reynolds if he is tired of losing. John Silver enters the room a moment later.

Big Swole v. Emi Sakura

I note that Swole reminds me of Bianca Belair as she makes her way to the ring. Something about her body control and attitude. Though Swole comes across as far edgier and aggressive.

The announcers point out that Emi Sakura was the 2009 Women’s Wrestler of the Year. That must’ve been for the Pro Wrestling Observer?

Excalibur notes that referee Rick Knox is wearing Kinesiology tape (KT tape) on his neck after being put through a table last week.

Swole fires off a heel kick for a two-count.

Sakura whips Swole around by her hair and gives her a flying surfboard. She is bending up her opponent.

Commercial break.

Swole drills Sakura with a headbutt to the chest.

While pitching an upcoming taping of Dynamite in Huntsville, Alabama, JR mentions podcast partner on “Grilling JR” with Conrad Thompson. I love little drops like that.

Sakura does a Tiger Driver in a backbreaker. Yowch! She grabs her mic stand from ringside but Swole wraps her up from behind. Sakura counters with the Cobra Twist.

Swole dances. Man, she’s got moves. She’s very smooth.

Sakura gets a twisting Vader Bomb for two. She promptly misses a moonsault.

Swole with rights and lefts and a kick to the face for a nearfall.

Sakura answers with a chop for two.

Swole fires off a ripcord Dirty Dancing for the win as her music plays.

Riho is shown at ringside. One of these two women will soon challenge her for her title.

Winner: Big Swole

Interview: PAC

Jenn Decker interviews PAC backstage. He says that he is here for opportunities but instead he is getting injustice. He demands a rubber match again Kenny Omega to settle the score between the two.

“Superbad” Kip Sabian/Shawn Spears v. “Hangman” Adam Page/Kenny Omega

Sabian enters the ring with the swagger of a young, heel Shawn Michael. Penelope Ford is a perfect part of the package. Besides being a real-life couple, they have that coolest-kids-in-school vibe in spades.

There is an inset promo with Tully Blanchard. He said that tonight is a test for Sabian to see if he and Spears can become the best tag team in the world.

Tony Schiavone points out that Spears is in the middle of a four-match win streak.

Excalibur promotes AEW social media accounts.

Sabian and Page start the match. Page buries his boot into Sabian’s chest.

Omega and Page swarm Sabian with chops. Omega lays out Sabian with a running backbreaker. Sabian is being dominated.

Commercial break.

JR namechecks Ivan Putski.

Ford blocks Omega from diving over the top rope onto her boyfriend. Spears then sneaks Omega with a  Backstabber because he is distracted.

Sabian with a hurricanrana to Omega.

Ford hits Page with a hurricanrana from the apron. She follows with a handspring elbow to Omega in the corner.

Omega rocks Sabian with a V-Trigger.

The arena goes completely dark just as Sabian is to make a tag.

A spotlight comes up shining on the ramp. Tully Blanchard is tied to a chair and gagged. Joey Janela is standing behind him, laughing. Spears charges from the ring to save his mentor.

Omega hits Sabian with a Snapdragon Suplex.

A V-Trigger and Buckshot Lariat by Page for the pinfall. Omega seems slightly perturbed that Page tagged himself in to take the pin himself. Excalibur rationalizes that despite who earned the pin, they will be visiting the pay window as a duo

Winners: Kenny Omega & Adam Page

Promo: Brandi Rhodes

Rhodes runs down the women in the company. She calls Britt Baker a “groupie.” There is a bald male sitting with his back to the camera. She kisses and rubs his head but refuses to allow him to reveal his identity.

Sammy Guevara v. Luchasaurus (w/ Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt)

Chris Jericho and Jake Hager are out. They kick Excalibur and Tony Schiavone from the announce booth and take their spots.

Sammy Guevara makes his way to the ring as the show cuts to commercial.

Luchasaurus comes out carrying Jungle Boy on his shoulders. They are accompanied by Marko Stunt.

Jericho puts over Luchasaurus’ smarts and athleticism.

Guevara smashes the big dinosaur in the face, then shotgun dropkicks him. He throws a sweet right hand.

Luchasaurus chops Guevara at ringside. He scoops up Sammy and slams him face-first into the apron.

Commercial break.

Lucha avoids a moonsault and hits a faceplant to get the clean pin on the Spanish God. The director misses the actual pinfall.

Jericho and Hager storm the ring. A brawl ensues. Jungle Boy catches Jericho with a Frankensteiner. Marko Stunt counts an unofficial three-count. This sets the stage for the match scheduled between the two next week. What chaos!

A promo airs for the Revolution PPV in February.

Schiavone and Excalibur are back at the commentary table.

Omega and Page v. Lucha Bros. are scheduled for next week, as well as Jericho/Jungle Boy in a 10-minute time-limit match.
